Apart from standard ball bearings our ANTIROT bearings do not have a cage, which is often a reason for a bearing failure thanks to its thickness. Cages are often made from a thin sheet often thinner than 0.2 mm and are not strong enough to withstand higher stress builds. This is why we came up with cage-less bearings.
Each bearing consists of an inner ring, outer ring, and 17 balls. Balls are stacked next to each other, as they are stacked e.g. in tracks of linear bearings. The inner section of the bearings is designed such that balls contact inner and outer ring at 3 points on 3 faces, 2 faces are conical.
Bearings have to be assembled before inserting them into the gearbox. This is done by greasing the outer rings with a grease and by stacking 17 balls in each of the outer rings. Inner rings are just a drop-in. While assembling and disassembling the gearbox it is necessary to be careful for the bearings not to fall apart. It is possible to help them to stay together by e.g. attaching a magnet on them from the outer side of the gearbox.
